South Padre Island is an amazing destination for all kinds of watersports, fishing, dining, eco-tourism, or just walking the beach.

We are considered to be the best location in the country for the new sport of kiteboarding. Windsurfers also come from all over the country to enjoy our breezy shallow bay.

Visitors and residents can enjoy both shallow sport fishing in the Laguna Madre Bay as well as great deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. There is a fishing expedition to fit all time frames and skill levels on Padre.

Our area is famous for our birdwatching, and the recently flooded Bahia Grande nearby is rapidly becoming a nationwide draw. In fact, the island will soon be home to our own "World Birding Center" which will be one of the best informational and interactive birdwatching sites anywhere.

An excellent golf course is only 20 minutes away. We also have some wonderful seafood dining and waterfront bars. South Padre can offer vacationers a range of activities from kayaking to kite-flying, bungee jumping to birdwatching, and sun bathing to shore walking. We are fortunate enough to have it all.
